War always brings with it a flood of refugees. The 11th November group has been working for the past 40 years on themes related to the experiences of ordinary people during the war and the group has now laid out a garden in memory of the refugees in the village of Westouter. Here they will remember, together with the municipality of Heuvelland and the local primary school, the fate of those who forced to flee their homes to escape the violence of war.
