As the name of the route suggests, you'll be cycling through villages and conquering 'mountains'. The hills are a fascinating patchwork of nature reserves harbouring a rich diversity of vegetation. In the past, they were often fought for by foreign troops. Amongst the green, you' ll find traces of Celts and Romans, but mostly remnants of the battles during the First World War.
